Step 1: Open Outlook in Safe Mode and Disable the Add-ins

Safe Mode Instructions

  • First, Press Windows Key + R together and go to the run box
  • Now, type the outlook/safe and press the OK
  • Go to the choose profile box and tick on the set as default profile and click on OK
  • After prompted, enter the correct ID and Password and open outlook
  • Note: If Outlook starts in the safe mode, then you will have to disable the Add-ins.

Disable Add-ins Instructions

  • Start Outlook and go to the upper left corner and click on the file and select the option and click on Add-ins
  • Now go to the bottom of the View and manage Office Add-ins and select the COM Add-ins and click on OK
  • After that, you have to carefully do one thing are given below, when the COM Add-ins listings open your current Add-ins
  • You can manually record the title of every selected add-in listed under Available Add-ins
  • You can also take a screenshot of the property and can save the image anywhere you want
  • After complete this process, clear all the selected check box and press Ok and press the exit.

Step 2: Create New Outlook Profile

For Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • Select the start and go the control panel

For Windows 8 and Windows 10

  • Select the start button and then type control panel
  • Go to the Mail and choose the Mail-Setup box and select the Show Profile and click on the Add button and press OK
  • Now go to the Profile Name Box and type the name which you want to use for New Profile and press OK
  • Then, go to the Auto Account Setup page for the Add Account
  • After that fill your details like Name, Email and Password under the Email Account box and choose next
  • After following this choose the Finish option
  • Now use this new profile while starts Outlook and choose the prompt for a profile to be used, and then select OK.

How to Use a Different Profile?

  • First, Restart the Outlook
  • Go to the Choose Profile Box and Select the New Profile which you created and choose OK

Step 3: Repair Outlook Data Files

Repair Outlook Data File (.pst) File

  • Firstly exits the Outlook and browse the following file locations
  • For Outlook 2016 and 2019

            C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16

  • For Outlook 2013

           C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15

  • For Outlook 2010

           C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14

  • For Outlook 2007

           C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12

  • Then, open SCANPST.EXE
  • Now select the Outlook Data File (Which you want to scan) and the select the browse
  • Then, choose start to begin the scan process
  • After scanning you will find out errors and you have to choose the repair button to start the repair process
  • After completing the repair process, start your outlook again with the repaired PST File

Create a New Data File for Listed New PST File

  • Go to the inbox and select the new items
  • In the New Item tab go to the more items
  • Now go to the Outlook Data File and Enter a File Name (Which you created)
  • If you want to add a password, then check the Add password option
  • Now type the password in both section Password & Verify Password and select the OK button

Check the Location of Your Outlook Data File

  • First, go to the file and then select the Account Setting
  • In account settings, select the data files
  • In the data files tab you can see all your data files (.pst) and Offline Data Files (.ost)

Step 4: Run / resetnavpane command

  • First Close the Outlook
  • Then choose the start and go to run box
  • Now type Outlook.exe /resetnavpane in the run box and click on OK

Step 5: Turn off the Compatibility Mode (If Outlook is running)

  • Firstly, search or find the Outlook.exe file on your system
  • For Outlook 2013

           C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15

  • For Outlook 2010

           C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14

  • Now right click on the Outlook.exe file and go to the properties
  • Now choose the Compatibility tab
  • Now see, is there any checked box on the Compatibility tab? uncheck that and select the Apply option  and press Ok
